I'm going to try The West Branch this weekend. It's a Tom Valenti restaurant, like Ouest, but more casual. It's supposed to have a great burger. It opened in the Fishes Eddy space (Bway and 77th).

Hi !
haven't been on here in such a while!
so many things in my area have changed. west branch opened (is it good? haven't tried it yet) and Fatty Crab is coming..
But what's going on with the corner where Avis used to be? That whole block, almost, is now under scaffolding and something's definitely going on there.
Does anyone know?!!

A friend of mine just returned from her weekly trip to the dry cleaners. She said the owner told her that his business was way down and that his landlord had raised his rent by $800 a month! What is the landlord thinking! Raising rent by hundreds a month in this economy? Outrageous. This poor guy would have to clean 15 more shirts a day or 300 more a month to make up for this increase. Anyone keeping up with recent holdups/ crime at the 70th st entrance to the B/C line? I know that the entrance periodically has problems, but was curious whether anyone had heard something recently. We should probably lobby to have it monitored somehow.

I just wanted to let you all know I've added a new style. I don't know if you've ever noticed, but at the very bottom of every page is a drop-down box that now has 3 styles you can choose from.
The Default style is the original one. I added "Element" a few weeks ago and now I've added one called "Element Blue" which is a blue variation of the original Element.... [Read More]
